Oldies but Goodies!

I just wanted to post a few photos from previous shoots as a reminder that SPRING is in the air! It's time to book sessions for your spring photos and there are numerous locations around Montgomery and Prattville that are absolutely perfect for pictures! I am taking new session appointments almost daily now and I am so grateful to all of you who have taken the time to pass my name along to your friends and family. Word of mouth from happy clients is THE BEST advertising I could ask for!
On a personal note, my family and I are excited to be moving into our first home the end of May and although things will be very busy for a few weeks, I will still be booking and scheduling sessions as usual so don't hesitate to call me! Thank you again for supporting Caryl Lawson Photography and I look forward to some wonderful Spring shoots!

Bridal Session Sneak Peek!

I had a session with one of my beautiful brides this past Saturday afternoon and since we are keeping her beauty under wraps until the wedding, this is all you get to see for now! Stephanie and her fiance Darren are going to tie the knot on May 23rd at Rocky Mount B&B in Prattville so we went there first and got some absolutely fantastic shots. Then we left and drove to Shakespeare where we stayed until dark. It was a wonderful afternoon and Stephanie was such a great sport-she was willing to do anything I asked and never once complained about being uncomfortable in her dress! She looked stunning and I'm so glad she chose to take advantage of the bridal session included in her package. It's a wonderful opportunity for a bride to get used to how she feels in her dress, shoes, veil, etc and more importantly, gives her a chance to capture her beauty in a setting that is laid back and casual. The wedding day is usually so busy and full of excitement and nervousness that it's not the best time to capture calm serene pictures of the bride. So that is what the bridal session is for. And Stephanie was simply gorgeous. Check back after the 23rd to see the rest of her bridal session and wedding pictures!

City Lights

After a wonderful day in Birmingham with my best friend, Harmony, we stopped at the top of a hill just outside of 5 points to get these pics. Luckily, there was a stone wall for me to steady my camera on since I didn't have a tripod. It was even more beautiful in person!

The Comeaux Family

Yesterday was a first for me...my new career served as a catalyst to reunite me with a friend from junior high school! Amanda Comeaux (formerly Amanda Owens) contacted me via Myspace and asked about having a family shoot done with her husband and son. We set it up and yesterday, they drove from Birmingham to Montgomery to meet me at Southern Homes and Gardens for a 2 hour shoot. It was SO good to see her again and her family is just beautiful! I love catching up with old friends and after talking with Amanda about what they wanted out of their session, we just let loose and had fun! I feel confident they will be glad they made the drive from Birmingham-my only fear is that I am giving her too much to choose from (I edited over 20 more that aren't even shown here on the blog)! lol A more comprehensive sampling of their entire shoot can be seen by viewing the album through my myspace page.

Melody and Chris

I absolutely LOVE photographing LOVE! Melody and Chris are so perfect together and their genuine love and appreciation for eachother is what made this shoot so special. A picture is just a picture. It's emotion that makes it a memory! Although these pictures are a great example of what to expect if you book an engagement session with me, Mel and Chris have actually been married for several years and are blessed to share a love for one another that is strengthened every day by their faith in God and commitment to Him and to each other. We did the shoot on location at Pratt Park in historic downtown Prattville. They were so much fun to be around and their laughter was contagious! It is always an honor and priviledge to build relationships with wonderful people such as Melody and Chris. So often God chooses to bless us through relationships with others and this is certainly the case here. ALSO...MELODY HAS RECENTLY STARTED HER OWN BUSINESS! SIMPLY DIVINE DESIGNS IS A DESIGNER BABY BOUTIQUE OFFERING HANDCRAFTED TREASURES FOR THE HIP AND TRENDY MOM! All of you moms out there and all of you folks who know moms who would love receiving trendy baby items as a gift, check out her website! http://www.simplydivinedesigns.biz/ Every item is handmade with love and attention to detail. I actually just purchased two matching bibs from her yesterday for my girls! They are SO cute! (My favorite is the watermelon paisley fabric!) Hope you can take a minute to check her website out! Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a safe and meaningful Easter weekend!

Happy Easter times TWO!!

It's the twins first Easter! They are growing so quickly and I feel like I often neglect getting portrait sessions with them simply because I seldom have anyone to help me when it comes to setting up a shoot with the two of them at the same time. But I couldn't let Easter pass by without at least a couple of sweet photographs of my beautiful girls (a special thanks to Harmony for helping me make this happen!). Thanks for looking and once again, Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to Donovan, Seth, and Grace Vuycankiat!

After doing a short mini session with Gracie yesterday, of course we HAD to do a shoot with big brothers! What a beautiful family! I am so incredibly blessed to be so close to these amazing kiddos! What an honor to be called Aunt Caryl! They were so great for the shoot and looked so handsome and pretty in their Easter outfits...I'll be posting a few pics of the twins in their Easter dresses next so stay tuned! Thanks so much!
