Combs-Riddle Wedding

Cambria and Brooks are a beautiful young couple from my church who serve faithfully as leaders in the youth group and have a relationship that has served as an amazing example to hundreds of young people who look up to them each week. They were married at a small church in Millbrook, AL in July and Leanna and I had a blast photographing their special day! Everything about the event was lovely - especially the bride! These are images from Cambria's bridal session and their wedding day. Best wishes to the newlyweds!

Janie

Janie's mom is a good friend of mine from church so I was excited when I heard that they needed a modeling portfolio session for Janie to submit to several child modeling agencies! Imagine her mother's panic attack when Janie got hold of the scissors the day before and cut her own hair! lol But a talented stylist was able to shape it up and I thought the pixie cut added a really special "Umph" to her already spunky and bright personality! She is such a natural in front of the camera - I know as soon as a magazine photographer gets a chance to work with her even once, she will be their number one choice from that point on!

Ochs-Arney Wedding

This was an amazing wedding to photograph and an even more amazing couple to work with! Rachel and Josh met while volunteering as historical re-en actors at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka, AL. Their friendship blossomed into love and they were married in July at the Fort in a ceremony as unique as their love! Joshua paid tribute to his own Irish lineage by having his groomsmen dress in kilts and carry authentic swords. There were musicians playing period instruments and many of the guests wore their historical period costumes to the ceremony. The ceremony itself was full of family and historical significance and the reception was no different. This was such a memorable event for all involved and Leanna (assistant/second shooter extraordinaire) were blessed to be a part of it and help to document the emotions of the day through photographs!

Best wishes to the newlyweds!!!!

Baby Maci

This was Maci's 3 mo session and she was just as adorable as ever!!!! This was one of my favorite shots!

Becca's Senior Session

Becca and her mom attend my church and I was so excited when her mom approached me about shooting her Senior Pictures! This was such a fun session and we even got some great shots of Becca and her boyfriend! I think those are her faves! lol

Bay Caroline's Newborn Session

I find so often that being a photographer gives me the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and acquintances...this was one such session. I went to high school with Baby Caroline's mom and it was such a pleasure catching up on old times and getting to meet Caroline! She's such a beautiful little thing!

Catching up...

For those of you who follow my blog....thanks for hanging in there! LOL I've found it difficult to keep it updated as I've gotten busier and since Facebook has become a fabulous marketing tool for me, I always post sneak peeks there after every session and lately, I haven't gotten around to updating the blog! I'm going to try to get better but just in case you follow the blog and haven't seen me on Facebook, please look me up. I update my facebook page on a daily basis so you won't have to wait as long to see what's new! :-)

That being said, I've added several blog entries tonight in an effort to get caught up and I will be adding several more over the next few days. I'm adding them in the order of when the session took place although the blog will not reflect the session date. I've also updated the look and style of the blog so feel free to comment and let me know what you think. I was just a little bored with the old style. It needed a face lift! lol

Thank you all for hanging in there and continuing to read this! I'm hoping to have the time to start putting more of a personal touch on my entries every now and then....maybe share a little with you all about my life and family. So often, I look at websites of other creative professionals and wonder what they're really like in their off time...when they aren't shooting pictures or decorating cakes or planning huge events. I see their work as an expression of their talent, but often wish I could get to know them personally...so I could understand their passion and talent even better and get a glimpse into what life is like for them behind the scenes.

So, coming up soon, lol, I will begin sharing more about myself, for those of you brave enough to continue reading. lol I'll give you a glimpse into who I am at home when I have bananas all over my hands and my twins are screeching because I'm sitting at the computer on the other side of the baby gate! I might even share a normal every day snap shot of our kids that doesn't look like it could be in a magazine...because yes, I take normal pictures of my kids too - just like every other mom! lol

So that's what you have to look forward to in the coming weeks and I thank you all for taking the time to read this blog! Thanks and God bless!!!!

Felicity turns 2!

(The above image is from Felicity's 1st B'day Session!!!!! )

Felicty is the granddaughter of one of my dearest friends, Dawn. We have been friends for many years and it is always my pleasure to photograph her grandchildren! Felicity's party had a Luau theme and all her friends at daycare celebrated with her by sharing cupcakes, fruit, and cheesepuffs and then washing away the crumbs in some awesome backyard water attractions!!! My kids were there and had a blast! Thank you, Dawn, for allowing me to capture these special memories for you and Amber!
